It is designed to be a fully functional professional audio
application, that uses the professional sound server jack for
sound i/o.

Ardour requires boost, scons, jack-audio-connection-kit, libsamplerate, 
fftw, libgnomecanvas, liblo, liblrdf, and raptor. 
All of these are available from SlackBuilds.org.
