Slick Greeter is the default LightDM greeter for Linux Mint.

To use Slick Greeter for LightDM, edit /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.

Then under the following line (i.e. line 88):
[Seat:*]

Set the following option:
greeter-session=lightdm-slick-greeter

This requires: xapp, lightdm
