mise manages development tools, environment variables, and tasks. It can
select tool versions per project and run tasks defined in mise.toml.
Building requires rust-opt (Rust 1.95 or newer). The supplied Cargo
vendor archive allows offline compilation using the upstream lockfile.
Rust is not required to run mise. Building may require substantial time,
memory, and disk space.
Self-update is disabled in this package. Update mise through Slackware's
package tools instead. Tools managed by mise are separate from this
package and normally require network access to download or build.
Backend-specific build dependencies depend on the selected tool.
Run mise as your normal user. Configuration and managed tools normally
live in ~/.config/mise/ and ~/.local/share/mise/, respectively. This
package neither installs runtimes nor changes shell startup files.
For shell integration, add the appropriate line to your startup file:
Bash: eval "$(mise activate bash)"
Zsh: eval "$(mise activate zsh)"
Fish: mise activate fish | source
Project configurations and plugins can execute commands. Review them
before using mise trust or running tasks in an unfamiliar project.
