Yazi is an asynchronous terminal file manager written in Rust. It
provides tabs, previews, batch operations, and Lua plugins. This package
includes the yazi file manager and the ya command-line utility.
Building requires rust-opt (Rust 1.95 or newer). Cargo uses the supplied
vendor archive and Cargo.lock without downloading dependencies. Rust is
not needed at runtime. The default build uses two jobs; set
CARGO_BUILD_JOBS=1 to reduce parallelism if necessary.
Optional tools add features:
7-Zip (non-standalone): archive previews and extraction
jq: JSON previews
fd and ripgrep: file and content searches
fzf (>= 0.53.0): quick subtree navigation
zoxide with fzf: navigation to previously visited directories
resvg: SVG previews
xclip, xsel, or wl-clipboard: clipboard support
chafa (>= 1.16.0) or ueberzugpp: fallback image previews
Some optional tool versions supplied by Slackware 15.0 may be too old
for these features. A Nerd Font is recommended for file icons. Image
previews depend on your terminal's graphics support.
Run yazi as your normal user. Configuration is stored under
${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-~/.config}/yazi/. Plugins and themes installed with
ya belong to your user account, not the system package.
